Morocco in November: Weather, Crowds & What to Do

November is the quiet reward at the end of the good season — warm desert days, cool nights, thinning crowds and prices sliding back down, all while the weather is still genuinely lovely. The October rush fades, the light stays golden, and you get much of autumn’s magic with more room to breathe. It is one of my quiet favourites.

What is on

November is calm — the harvest festivals are done and the winter celebrations have not begun. That quiet is the point: guesthouses have time to talk, guides are not rushing between groups, and the medinas move at a local pace. It is travel with the volume turned down.

Crowds and prices

Both easing nicely. The autumn peak has passed, so desert camps and riads open up and rates soften — without the winter cold having properly arrived. Late November starts to feel wintry at night in the mountains and desert, but daytime stays warm and pleasant.

Who November suits

Desert travellers who want October’s conditions with fewer people, value-seekers, and anyone who prefers a calm trip to a busy one. Bring a warm layer for the evenings — the days are mild, but the nights are on their way to winter.

The desert is still excellent — the how is in the complete Sahara guide, and best time to visit shows where November sits in the year.

Is November good for the Sahara?

Very — warm 25°C days and cool 10°C nights make it comfortable, and there are fewer people than in October. Pack a warm evening layer and it is one of the nicest, best-value months for the dunes.

Is Morocco quiet in November?

Pleasantly so — the autumn crowds thin out and prices ease, while the weather stays warm by day. It is a great month if you want the good conditions without the peak-season bustle.

Is it cold in Morocco in November?

Not by day — the cities and desert stay warm (22–25°C). Nights cool down, though, especially late in the month and up in the mountains, so bring layers for the evenings.
